...by the various governments of these United States.

The slaying of Manuel Pardo by the State of Florida brings us up to 43 executions in 2012.

Most directly responsible for this latest death are:

• Governor Rick Scott, who signed the death warrant "authorizing" the execution.
• U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Corrigan, who denied a final appeal.
• The cowardly "private citizen" who performs executions for the state at $150 an injection in exchange for his or her name remaining anonymous.
• The twelve private citizens who decided, in 1988, to kill Pardo.

But most responsible, of course, are the people of the State of Florida themselves, who've chosen to maintain such a barbaric institution as part of their "justice" system.
