Biden: Obama Could Use Executive Order for Gun Control

Der Fuhrer Barack Obama
Jan. 9, 2013 - "The president is going to act," Biden said to reporters before he met with gun violence victims and gun control advocate. "There are executives orders," said Biden, "there's executive action that can be taken."

Biden added, "We haven't decided what that is yet. But we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required."

In other words, the Obama Regime will do as it damned pleases, legislative action be damned, representative government be damned, the Constitution be damned. The Imperial Presidency further advances itself.

"Today’s session of an administration panel led by Biden was the first of two scheduled this week," reports NewsMax. "Obama gave Biden an end-of-the-month deadline to come up with recommendations for measures to stem deaths and injuries from firearms in the U.S. Since the Dec. 14 shootings at the Newtown, Connecticut, school that killed 20 children and six adults, advocates of more restrictions on firearms have revived long-stalled efforts to push for legislation to regulate or restrict access to firearms."

Judge Correale F. Stevens
Regardless of your own opinion of gun control, it should bother you that our President is willing to bypass the Congress and make law by himself. That is not how it is supposed to be. That's not the kind of government  the United States is based on.

"The Revolutionary War," wrote Correale F. Stevens, a judge on Pennsylvania Superior Court, "was fought for our freedom from the King of England who made arbitrary laws with no accountability, no restraints, no constitution." Judge Stevens wrote his remarks in a column published by the Baltimore Sun on January 3, 2013. "The system of checks and balances with three independent branches of government was designed to protect us from a president who would envision himself as a king who can do no wrong, who can by the "stroke of a pen" as the law professors say, make law according to his own personal whims." Stevens ended his column by saying that, "Just because a president wins re-election does not give him authority to rule our county by executive order. Such a powerful tool is especially disturbing in any lame duck president who does not have to account to the voters directly again."

Kill The Rich, Jokes Chicago Teachers Union President

To contact us Click HERE
Jan. 9, 2013 - Karen Lewis, president of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), thinks killing rich people is funny. So funny, in fact, that she recently joked about the prospect of union members killing the wealthy.

Her audience, a bunch of like-minded socialists, thought it was funny too. And why not? A good class warfare joke about murdering the rich is always welcome at these kinds of gatherings, nyet? Da!

Lewis delivered her speech to the Illinois Labor History Society “Salute to Labor’s Historic Heroes from the History Makers of Today,” on Dec. 2, 2013. It attracted attention this week after video of the event surfaced online, says the Daily Caller. "Lewis earned scattered applause from her audience by noting that, approximately 100 years ago, pro-union activists were ready to murder their rich bosses."

Lewis did not disappoint the crowd of class warriors. "She threw gasoline onto the fire of class warfare," notes EAG News, "and even mentioned mob killings of wealthy Americans." EAG quoted Lewis:
“… Do not think for a minute that the wealthy are ever going to allow you to legislate their riches away from them. Please understand that. However, we are in a moment where the wealth disparity in this country is very reminiscent of the robber baron ages. The labor leaders of that time, though, were ready to kill. They were. They were just – off with their heads. They were seriously talking about that.”  Some in the audience laughed and clapped at her remark.
She was just joking, the Liberal apologists on the Left will say. Uh huh, joking about murder.

"He who jokes confesses," says an old Italian proverb. Lewis's joke about killing the wealthy strikes a chord deep within the hearts of her supporters. Deep down, some of them actually do want to kill the wealthy. A lot of people who support unions really want to kill the rich.

And you can bet your rear end that there are plenty of CTU members who would actually kill the wealthy if ordered to. Of course, they would not kill the wealthy union bosses like Karen Lewis, who pulls down Big Bucks as CTU's pampered president.

Stalin Kill The Rich

Lewis became CTU's president in June of 2010. "The previous CTU president pulled down nearly $300,000 a year in base salary and compensation," reported TownHall last year. "Local union watchdogs reported that top CTU officers and staff with six-figure salaries and bonuses also received:" In addition, top CTU officials received "... a monthly expense account for each administrator -- officers, coordinators and field representatives -- of $1,500; a car allowance of $7,000 per year (whether or not you have a car); 85 percent of car insurance and expenses paid; parking allowance; cellphone allowance; life insurance paid with union dues; and among other perks, a 53rd week of yearly pay for "working" over the Christmas holiday."

The TownHall report also said, "records show that [Lewis] made more than $71,000 for half a year's work in 2010 -- along with compensation from the Illinois Federation of Teachers in 2011 totaling at least an additional $64,000 on top of her unknown base salary and benefits."

Hope. Change. Murder.
EAG asks, "Big salaries with an average income in the $70,000 range. Generous benefits and pensions. Limited work days and nine-month work years. What are these people complaining about?"

Union leaders like Karen Lewis really don't give a damn about the quality of the education your kids are getting in the public schools. All of their agitation and protesting and striking is not "for the children." It's for them, it's for power, it's a means of advancing their socialist power agenda. Well, and a touch of personal greed for all the goodies they can soak the taxpayers for, too.

Lewis's fat salary is probably just barely enough to support her obvious gluttony. A raise might be in order for her, if only to protect the lives of others. After all, if she runs out of food she is likely to eat some of her fellow rich folk.

[Written May 29th]
Today began inbrilliant color as David, Dennis, and I woke up early to watch the sunriseagainst the background of Buvumu Islands. The three of us made the 25-minutehike along the shore of Lake Victoria, through the village of Katonga, and upthe rocky incline to the center of Lingira Island, this time unaccompanied byJack and Simba, our canine companions who almost always follow at our feet andstubbornly refuse to ever waiver their protection. The narrow alleyways betweenthe mud huts of Katonga were already bustling with people when we passedthrough.  Both mothers and childrenpaused their chores and watched curiously as we walked, but replied and smiledwarmly when we greeted them in Luganda. Following a few young boys herdinggoats along the path outside of the village, the three of us diverted and cutthrough the thick brush that halos the island’s raised center. Contrary to ourinitial thoughts, we made it to the top of the hill with time to spare. Davidand Dennis found comfortable seats on large rocks protruding from the ocean ofoluwanyi, the tall grass that covers the top of the island. I, on the otherhand, found a seat less comfortable on a forgiving termite mound, but luckilythe termites must not have minded. Soon the painted sky gave way to amagnificent Ugandan sun, which immediately saturated the landscape around us inlight. I have never seen clouds quite like these. We sat there in a silenceaccompanied only by the hum of a lake fly cloud some ten million strong, and feltthe waves of heat begin to bake the ground.
Today alsomarks the first of our work with the Water Kegs. The first couple kegs will beless assembly and more experiment as we work together to tweak and perfect thedesign to best fit the needs of the people. We plan to build 100 filters, buthave enough that we can experiment with different local materials andtechniques. In addition to the actual filter assembly, we are preparing to goout into the camps to survey the people’s habits and understanding of humanrights and water sanitation. The results will hopefully help to illuminate thespecific needs of the community in regards to our goals for the water filters.Titus, the chairman of Lingira Village, is very excited about the project—hisopinion is crucial for its success.
Everyonesends their hellos and well wishes. Jeebale.

Wood boats long line

the muddy shore,Each bow pointing regally
towards horizonless Lake Victoria.
Men called kinyamas for their strength,
in uniform blue,
carrying women and children
to and from each boat.
Even a suited businessman,
riding a kinyama’s shoulders, avoids walkingthrough the mud.But for a traveler like me,
who wouldn’t want a piece of Victoria
fastened to their feet?

Democratic state senator and three Democratic state representatives move to ban hunting ammunition in Wisconsin?

This type of law would never have been offered a decade or two ago.  Redstate has a detailed discussion of the proposed law:
“The provision in the bill draft that provides whoever intentionally sells, transports or possesses any bullet that expands or flattens easily in the human body is guilty of a Class H felony conflicts with current DNR hunting rules.  Under s. NR 10.09 (1)(c)2., ‘no person shall hunt any deer or bear with any air rifle, rim-fire rifle, any center-fire rifle less than .22 caliber, any .410 bore or less shotgun or handgun loaded with .410 shotgun shell ammunition or with ammunition loaded with nonexpanding type bullets or ammunition loaded with shot other than a single slug or projectile.’ The bill draft does not provide an exception to the prohibition on possessing expanding bullets for deer or bear hunting.” (Emphasis added)

26 states completely opt out of state run exchanges, seven other states would only take on part of the task

From the Washington Times:
The backbone of President Obama’s health care law is taking shape, with 26 states choosing to let the federal government run the online insurance markets mandated by his signature reforms instead of keeping the job in-house or partnering with the feds.
The Department of Health and Human Services had encouraged states to run their own markets, or “exchanges,” that help the uninsured find coverage. Only 17 states and the District of Columbia took on the task, while seven states decided to split the duty with the Obama administration, according to a breakdown by the Kaiser Family Foundation. . . .
This is putting it mildly.
“It’s not what the drafters of the bill had hoped would happen,” Timothy Jost, a health law expert at Washington and Lee University School of Law, said of the outcome on Friday. . . .
There could be a lot of court cases determining whether there are now limits on what the Federal government can spend on health care in those states.
