In past years I've been better about profiling third-party candidates for office. Well, better late than never. I'll profile candidates who are on the ballot either in Michigan or Illinois.

Virgil H. Goode Jr. is on the ballot in Michigan for the U.S. Taxpayers party.

He proposes eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts as part of his plan to balance the federal budget. In 2011, the NEA's budget was approximately 0.00426% of total federal expenditures. It cost about $0.50 per citizen per year.

Goode supports a radical change to the United States Constitution that would deny citizenship to people born in the US based on the actions of their parents.

He supports anti-immigration efforts in Arizona that include racial profiling: demanding papers from those who look like they might be undocumented immigrants.

He supports English as the official language.

He supports ending the estate tax, which currently only applies to estates valued over $5 million, and even in the "worst case" scenario next year will still only apply to estates valued over $1 million.

He opposes marriage equality.

He supports the death penalty.

He opposes a woman's right to choose to end a pregnancy.
