What An Oppressive Occupation Looks Like

I'm definitely not an expert on the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I won't attempt to argue that one side or the other is clearly justified in the light of history, or that one side or the other has been worse overall. Instead, I can only look at what is happening now. And what I see happening is this:

Seven people killed, including two children, as a response to rocket attacks which have claimed zero casualties.

Which side of this conflict looks like it is fighting for its life? Which side seems like the powerful oppressor, and which like the downtrodden oppressed? The most morally complicated conflicts can become a whole lot similar when one side effectively has all the guns.
